Effective 8 September 2026 · Last updated 8 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information francesmendez.com collects, how it is used, who it is disclosed to, and the choices available to you.
In short
The only personal information this site collects is your email address, and only when you enter it into a form. It is used to send you the guide and my newsletter. It is never sold, rented, or shared for anyone else’s marketing. You can unsubscribe from any email, or ask me to delete your address entirely, at any time.
This policy applies to francesmendez.com, operated by Frances Méndez, an individual based in Los Angeles, California (“I,” “me,” or “my”).
It does not cover Camino5, the agency I co-founded, which operates separately at camino5.com and maintains its own policies. It also does not cover tools.camino5.com, which belongs to Camino5. It does cover tools.francesmendez.com.
Personal information. Your email address, and nothing else. You provide it voluntarily when you submit a form on this site — the home page signup, the Thoughts signup, the workshop waitlist, or the request form for the Build Your Second Brain guide. I do not request your name, telephone number, postal address, employer, or payment details. There are no user accounts.
Usage information. My hosting provider records aggregate analytics about site visits: pages viewed, approximate country or region of origin, referring site, and browser and device type. This information is not linked to your email address and does not identify you individually.
Your email address is used solely to send you email you have asked for:
I do not sell your personal information. I do not rent, trade, or otherwise disclose it for any third party’s marketing purposes, and I receive no compensation in exchange for it.
Aggregate usage information is used to understand which pages are read and whether the site is working.
Your email address is disclosed to two service providers, each of which processes it on my behalf and is contractually restricted from using it for its own purposes:
No other category of third party receives personal information collected through this site. I do not use advertising networks, data brokers, or third-party marketing pixels.
I may disclose information where required by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
This site does not use cookies for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking. The analytics described in section 02 are cookieless: they do not store a persistent identifier on your device and cannot recognise you on any other website.
No third party collects personally identifiable information about your online activities across other websites through this site.
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” signal. Because this site does not track visitors across third-party websites, it does not alter its behaviour in response to that signal. California law requires operators to disclose how they respond to it, and this section is that disclosure.
Unsubscribing. Every email I send contains an unsubscribe link. Using it removes you from the list. Requests are honoured promptly and in all cases within ten business days.
Access, correction, and deletion. Write to Frances@camino5.com and I will tell you what I hold, correct it, or delete it. There is no form to complete; the request reaches me directly. I may need to confirm the request came from the address in question before acting on it.
Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions. Where local law grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection to direct marketing, or withdrawal of consent, I will honour those requests through the same contact address, regardless of whether that law formally applies to me. Where I rely on your consent to send marketing email, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Your email address is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. If you unsubscribe, a suppression record is retained indefinitely for the sole purpose of ensuring you are not re-added to the list.
Your email address is held within ActiveCampaign’s systems and protected by that platform’s security controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted an email address, contact me and it will be deleted.
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your information is handled, the effective date above will be updated and the change will be noted in the next email I send. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
